Regular event at Raven Rock State Park

We will have a REGULAR event at Raven Rock State Park on Sunday April 12, 2015. Raven Rock is near Lillington, about 40 miles S of Raleigh. We will be using the part of Raven Rock that is South of the Cape Fear River. If you are using a GPS to get to the park, use the address: 3009 Raven Rock Road, Lillington, NC, 27546 or use GPS coordinates: 35.459259, -78.912911. Note that Moccasin Branch Rd is unpaved and has a stream crossing it with a ford rather than a bridge. Do not take this at speed! If the park is full (likely), you may be directed to parking on Moccassin Branch Rd a short distance from the park entrance. We will start at the picnic shelter which is adjacent to the first parking area on your right after you enter the park.

Everyone is welcome, and we will have a beginners class at 12:30.

The event starts at noon and everybody must finish by 3 PM. We will have all regular courses from beginner to advanced, White through Red. The park is a lovely park, but there are some steep slopes and quite a bit of mountain laurel to slow you down off trail. A reminder that tick season is upon us, so take precautions.

If you are bringing a group of 5 or more people please pre-register for this event.

Help with control pick-up would be greatly appreciated.
