We had several courses designed by Gheorghe Fala around the buildings in Dorothea Dix park. Many people showed up despite the heat and the imminent storms. In the end everyone finished dry (at least from the rain). These events are a bit different from regular ones: there is very little vegetation, most of the navigation is around buildings (they can be tricky!), and taking the straight route between two controls is almost never possible. Careful route choices and good overall running speed are a huge advantage.
Notes
Robert Enochs posted a very good time for his first attempt at Sprint A, but unfortunately he missed one control. After finishing Sprint B he decided to retry Sprint A and posted a faster time. Both of his runs are left in the results. Another special case is that event director Gheorghe tried his luck at one of the courses that he had designed and set. His result is posted but is DQ’ed from the final standings. (He would have finished first.)
