We are taking orders now for delivery in April 2026

SignalSlinger is a 5-Watt Radio Orienteering transmitter for the 80m band.

Detailed instructions for assembly and use are in the SignalSlinger User Manual.

This kit includes all the parts listed in the Assembly Manual section of the User Manual, including the internal battery. Also included is the SignalStreamer 80m transmit antenna kit. The only additional things you will need to start using your SignalSlinger are:

  • External 12v battery, one for each ‘Slinger. For SignalSlinger to transmit, it must be connected to an external power source, and a 12V LiIon battery pack is ideal. (Not included.)
  • Configuration cable: one is sufficient for configuring all your ‘Slingers. (Not included.)

The internal battery keeps SignalSlinger’s clock running for days without an external power source, so it can start transmitting at the preset time. An attached external battery, or configuration cable, will automatically charge the internal battery. Without the internal battery, a momentary disconnect from the external battery would lose the current time, preventing the transmitter from turning on at the preset time.

The SignalStreamer antenna kit (included) is ‘Slinger’s perfect match (no pun). The details are in the SignalStreamer User Manual.

To program ‘Slinger, you connect a configuration cable (not included) between it and the USB port of a computer or a suitable Android smartphone. You only need one configuration cable to program all of your SignalSlingers.

A null modem cable (not included) is used to transfer event details from one ‘Slinger to another, so you don’t have to program each transmitter separately. A null modem is not essential, but it prevents configuration errors and makes programming a set of ‘Slingers quick and easy.
