  • National Park Pass is accepted for entry
  • Vehicle $20 Valid seven consecutive days

  • Annual Pass for Prince William Forest Park $35 Valid one year from month of purchase

• All practices, meetings and races will start and download at the Turkey Run Ridge Campground site “C” in Prince William Forest Park except the sprint
• The Sprint will start near the Visitor Center
  • GPS: 38.581644, -77.373157
  • The park is open from sunrise, 6:46 am, to sunset, 7:37 pm
    • The visitor center is open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
  • Competitors are invited to camp in our group camp “C” without additional cost.
    • Only tent camping is permitted
    • Flush toilets and sinks
    • No Showers

• Wednesday, April 6: Morning & Afternoon Practices
  • Practice Map

    • If you filled out this form by Monday evening, 4/4/22 I will print a map for you to pick up at the campground.
  • 10:00 am – 12:00 pm Morning Practice
    • The morning practice is an actual sprint with 5n and 5f as well as a beacon and spectator controls. We can practice with the 12 second sprint format and run in the forest on the map. The transmitters will be on the same frequencies as the championship competition, but with but transmit at 50Mw instead of 1w.
  • 1:00 – 4:00 pm Afternoon Practice
    • A 1.5k 2m Classic course with 3 transmitters
      • 144.50 MHz 60/120 timing (60 seconds on / 120 seconds off)
      • Using OK2BWN transmitters at 1w
      • The 2m championship classic will use Arducon 2m transmitters at 1w
    • A 1.5k 80m Classic course with 2 transmitters
      • 3.57 MHz 60/120 timing

      • keying at sprint fast speed (70)
      • Same frequency, power, and transmitter as champion fast sprint with 1 minute timing instead of 12 second timing.

• Covid Policies:
  • Vaccination required
  • Masks worn when approaching volunteers on station.
  • Testing and reporting the result to us is recommended.
• Safety Information:
  • Everyone must carry a whistle with them on the course.
  • You are encouraged to carry a cell phone with you on the course.
    • Using the cell phone will disqualify you from the event except when reporting an emergency, contacting the organizer, or after you are overtime.
  • There are no unusual dangers in Prince William Forest. You should use insect repellent on your clothes to repel ticks, and there could also be mosquitoes. Expect rocky, thorny and marshy areas. There are venomous snakes, but they are not commonly seen.
  • There will not be drinking water on the course. If the temperature is predicted to be 95F or over during the day, you will be required to bring water with you.
    • We will have drinking water at the campground for you to fill up your container.
    • Disposable water bottles are not permitted on the course and discouraged throughout the event.
