We are having a Motala Relay on January 1, 2012 for Advanced Members with Finger Sticks who Pre-register.
There will be a Briefing at 1pm and a Mass Start at 1:30pm.
In a Motala Relay the course is made up of several loops. Teams start on all the different loops, and when you finish one loop your team mate picks up a new map for the next loop until your team has run all the loops. You can run alone or have up to as many people on a team as there are loops. (We’ll get back to you on that after the courses are designed.)
We are going to start from the Whispering Pines Camp, but we have to park in the main parking lot at Umstead South i.e. the Crabtree Creek side of the park, and then walk to Whispering Pines – 1.300 km. Plan your time carefully because we are going to have a briefing at 1pm and then a mass start for the first loop at 1:30.
Josef is designing the courses and setting them up. It should be challenging and fun. This format allows for more socializing because some of us are waiting for our team mates to finish — that is if you don’t run all the loops.
