Orienteering Raleigh NC

Backwoods Orienteering Klub, founded November 15, 1978 sponsors events and teaches orienteering in the North Carolina piedmont, around Raleigh, NC.

We invite you to try orienteering with us. Everyone is welcome at all our events. We always offer beginning, intermediate, advanced and expert courses (routes through the woods) at every Regular event.

Update: Results for Orienteering and ARDF April 21-22, 2018

Here is an update to the results for the event.  The MeOS software outputs the date in IOF standard .xml format that can be used by WinSplits, an online data analysis and display.  This software has additional information including “Time Lost in Errors”.  You can check the event results out on the WinSplits webpage  that links to our Gray Owl event.

We had some really difficult courses for both the ARDF events as well as the Orienteering.  Thanks to Patrick, Kelly, Imre, Vladimir and Tatyana for help picking up controls and transmitters.

We used new event software, MeOS, and were able to have instantaneous results, keep track of who was out, and fill out competitors from a database.  The only significant problem is the results format, as you can see, isn’t as nice as ours.  (The good news is that one can write a custom results output using a java like script. – any volunteers?)
