Sprint Event at Lake Crabtree on June 19, 2011

The 2011 Summer Sprint Series will start with an event at Lake Crabtree County Park on Sunday, June 19.  Exit 285 off I-40 (one exit west of Umstead’s Harrison St exit), head South (toward Morisville), then first left into the park. We will be at one of the picnic tables off the 4th parking area (the sign says “White Oak Shelter, etc.”), near the small outdoor amphitheater.

As usual, we will give the option to start as early as possible to take advantage of the cooler portion of the day; as usual, the actual start time depends on when we get all controls out, but we should be ready by 10:00am, and possibly even earlier.

This event is open to everyone. (No pre-registration is necessary.)

There will be a single beginner level course (mostly on trails, white level difficulty), and two sprints, roughly 2.4km and 3.0km.

Finally, Crabtree Park may close its trails if there is rain.  Call the park at (919)460-3390 on the day of the event for the latest information regarding the status of the park trails.
