Orienteering Raleigh NC

Backwoods Orienteering Klub, founded November 15, 1978 sponsors events and teaches orienteering in the North Carolina piedmont, around Raleigh, NC.

We invite you to try orienteering with us. Everyone is welcome at all our events. We always offer beginning, intermediate, advanced and expert courses (routes through the woods) at every Regular event.

Eno River sprint orienteering, August 13

Everyone is welcome to our “sprint” orienteering event on Sunday, August 13 at Eno River State Park.   We will offer two short courses (as well as radio orienteering courses, described in another post).  Arrive any time between 10:00 AM and noon, and park in the loop parking lot at the end of Cole Mill Road.  Check-in and get your maps at the O’Briant cabin (GPS = 36.07446, -79.00868), after crossing the swinging bridge.  Tentative course lengths are 2.2 km and 2.1 km and are designed and set by Matthew Kirk.
