Members Event, 11 March, Umstead West

On Sunday March 11, BOK will hold a Member event on the West side of Umstead Park.  This event is open to club members who have completed an expert (brown, green, or red) course.  You must pre-register for this event here, before 5:00 PM on Friday, March 9, so that we know how many maps to print.

Registration will be at the information sign just past the park gate, at the end of Old Reedy Creek road (GPS coordinates: 35.847734, -78.776334).  You may park along the east side of Old Reedy Creek Road, just be sure to pay attention to the No Parking signs, as we cannot park too close to the gate.  Alternatively, you can park in the Lake Crabtree parking lot just south of the I-40 overpass and enjoy a 1.1km warm-up to the registration area.  Starts can be accommodated between noon and 2:00, with control pickup beginning around 3:00.

Daylight Savings Time kicks in this weekend, so remember to move your clock forward one hour before you go to bed Saturday evening.

Courses:

Brown:  3.7 km, 6 controls.

Green:  5.6 km, 9 controls.

Red:  7.3 km, 13 controls.
