Members event at Ft. Macon State Park (Saturday, February 2)

This Saturday, February 2nd, we will have a special members-only event at Ft. Macon State Park in Atlantic Beach, NC.  Come orienteer among the dunes, and along the beach!  Carl Briscoe has designed beginner, intermediate and advanced courses as training for his cadets, plus a 90-minute score course including all of the controls.  BOK members, members of other orienteering clubs, and active duty military personnel are welcome to attend.  Please pre-register for this event by February 1 at 9:00 am.

The map is new and not 100% field-checked, but should be good enough to get people where they need to go.  Start any time between noon and 3:00 (if you’re doing the score course, start any time before 1:30), but be sure to be off your course by 3:30, when control pickup will begin; Park here (GPS coordinates = 34.698100, -76.678407, and go to the registration table here (GPS coordinates = 34.697083, -76.678496).
