Orienteering Raleigh NC

Backwoods Orienteering Klub, founded November 15, 1978 sponsors events and teaches orienteering in the North Carolina piedmont, around Raleigh, NC.

We invite you to try orienteering with us. Everyone is welcome at all our events. We always offer beginning, intermediate, advanced and expert courses (routes through the woods) at every Regular event.

Members event, Carolina North, 02 October

On Sunday October 2, BOK will hold a Member event at Carolina North Forest (CNF).  This is event is open only to BOK members who have completed an orange (or more advanced) course.  You must pre-register for this event here, before 5:00 PM on Friday, September 30, so that we know how many maps to print.  Please note that there will be a new registration location for this event – in the small grassy field south of Seawell Elementary School.  The school is located on Seawell School Road (GPS coordinates:  35.940113, -79.078903; Map here), and it is okay for BOK members to park in its parking lot.  Starts can be accommodated between noon and 2:00, with control pickup beginning around 3:00.

Brown:  3.7 km, 10 controls.

Green:  5.9 km, 16 controls.

Red:  7.2 km, 23 controls.
