Expert orienteers (i.e., those who have finished a brown, green, red, or blue course) are welcome to participate in a nighttime orienteering event at Carolina North Forest on Saturday, September 14. We will offer four point-to-point advanced/expert courses (orange, brown, green, and red), with individual starts any time between 8:30 and 9:30 PM. Control pickup will start around 10:30. Note that this event starts on the west side of the park. Park here; and if the lot is full, then park here. You must pre-register here. Registrations received after 9 AM on Saturday the 14th cannot be guaranteed a map. Participants who have no experience with night orienteering are strongly advised to register for the orange course. Mandatory equipment includes a fingerstick (which you can rent when you register online), a whistle, and a headlamp, flashlight, or both.
